The Top 5 Reasons That Fashion Face Masks Aren’t So Bad After All

The COVID-19 virus seems to refuse to go down without a fight; and though the world is remaining hopeful as the curve is finally beginning to flatten, it’s important that we continue to take the necessary precautions to protect our health. Many studies are recommending/predicting that people will have to wear face masks for the next 18 months, or until a vaccine is developed to fight COVID-19. Face masks are part of the new normal.

Face masks, whether they are surgical or cloth, are key in keeping people healthy when out in public; and as more and more places begin to open back up, face masks will be an everyday necessity, the same way your wallet or cell phone is. With that being said, face masks are going to become a staple of your wardrobe, so why not make them an accessory too?

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get out of the house as soon as this is all over, however, I also know that in order to protect myself and others, face masks are going to be necessary for a while. Since face masks are going to be a regular part of my outfit, why not have options, and why not try to look on the bright side of having to wear a face mask?

Fashion Masks: The Most Popular Accessory of 2020

If you are a person  that strives to put together the best outfits and stay up to date with the latest trends, you probably want a face mask that is just as fabulous as your sense of style. Face masks, or in this case, fashion masks, are most certainly the hottest accessory of 2020.

Besides protecting the health and wellness of humans (and allowing us to go shopping and to happy hour again) here are the top 5 reasons that face masks may not be so bad after all, especially fashion face masks

  1. No More Fixing Your Makeup (or even applying any at all!) Before You Leave The House

Say goodbye to wasting lipstick or concealer to just run to the supermarket; with fashion face masks, a majority of your face will be covered so nobody will see any uneven skin tones or fine lines. Throw some mascara on your lashes (maybe some eye shadow if you’re feeling frisky) and you are good to go.

No more trying to apply blush at a light on your way to the office, and no more hours wasted trying to get your highlighter just right; your mask is your new beauty routine.

  1. Wine Mustache? No Problem

If you’re anything like me, the COVID-19 pandemic has made you realize some things and put other things into perspective-I realized I really enjoy wine. With my daily glass -or two or three- I have come to see that there is only one downside to my great admiration for wine,  (besides the liquor store employees beginning to know my by name) a wine mustache.

Red wine has my heart, and with this intense love affair between myself and Pinot Noir (or Merlot, or Cabernet, or anything I have in the house) I find myself often falling victim to a tacky red mustache. Sound familiar? Fashion face masks are the solution to the dreaded wine mustache.

At home drinking a glass of wine and realize you need to go walk the dog and you don’t have time to scrub off your wine mustache? Thank God for fashion face masks! At your friends house having a social distance happy hour and you don’t have any wine wipes? Throw that mask back on! When bars finally open and you are walking past the attractive guy at the bar that has been staring at you all night,  but you can feel the stickiness of the red wine above your lip, put your fashion face mask on and give him the most seductive eyes you can.

Fashion face masks are the solution to wine drinkers everywhere.

  1. You Won’t Be Spending Money to Whiten Your Teeth This Season

Beauty must suffer; a phrase I have been told since I was in diapers, and probably the reason that I wear heels to just about every place besides the gym. I replay this phrase everytime I wake up the morning after whitening my teeth and even something as small as smiling sends nerve pains throughout my entire body. As an avid coffee and wine drinker, I need to whiten my teeth every season, with face masks being part of every wardrobe, investing in whitening toothpaste is as far as I will go to whiten my teeth this Spring.

Since nobody but the people that are in my house are going to see my teeth, why waste money whitening them this season? Face masks just saved my life and my bank account (Woo! More money for wine and online shopping!).

  1. What Wrinkles?

Face masks are the temporary answer to everlasting youth. With face masks, it’s hard to see your face in general, let alone any wrinkles that you may have. Instead of spending money on botox and skin tightening serums this year, invest in some trendy fashion face masks and you are good to go.

Wrinkles, what wrinkles?

  1. Bye-Bye Bad Breath

We hate to admit it, but yeah, sometimes our breath smells. Bad breath doesn’t mean you’re dirty or gross, maybe you had a lunch that had more garlic than you expected and you don’t have gum or a toothbrush on you. Or, maybe you are on your way home the next morning  after a night out with girlfriends and you forgot to pack a toothbrush. What do you do as you are standing in line waiting for your coffee at Starbucks, but afraid you’re going to make the barista pass out from your accidental stale breath?

Face masks are the answer yet again. Your facemask will shield anyone from your breath, allowing you to order your iced coffee peacefully, knowing that only you are experiencing your unpleasant breath.
*And…maybe stop at Target to invest in a travel size toothbrush to keep in your purse.

Face Masks Are Saving Our Lives In More Ways Than One

Face masks are here to stay, at least for the next year or so. In all seriousness, face masks are important in protecting our health and wellness. Face masks may be the difference between life and death for some people when it comes to contracting the COVID-19 virus so it’s important that we as humans make it a point to wear them until further notice. With this reality, it’s important to look on the bright side of wearing face masks and to find fashionable and trendy face masks that will make wearing them less unpleasant.

Do all that you can to protect you and your family during this global pandemic… and so we can get back to happy hour.
